Robert Edward Hood, 90, a resident of Killingworth and Plantsville, CT passed away on January 25, 2018 at his home in Killingworth, CT.
He is the widower of Mallie Carmella (Perillo) Hood. Robert was born on May 6, 1927 in Mittleton, Mass., to the late Clyde Lincoln Hood and Brenda (Guptill) Hood previously from Lebanon, Maine. Mr. Hood worked for Michael's Auto Body for 25 years. He owned a business and gas station in the 1960's. He volunteered for junior sports. He loved spending time with his family. Robert Edward Hood, 90, a resident of Killingworth and Plantsville, CT passed away on January 25, 2018 at his home in Killingworth, CT.
He is the widower of Mallie Carmella (Perillo) Hood. Robert was born on May 6, 1927 in Mittleton, Mass., to the late Clyde Lincoln Hood and Brenda (Guptill) Hood previously from Lebanon, Maine. Mr. Hood worked for Michael's Auto Body for 25 years. He owned a business and gas station in the 1960's. He volunteered for junior sports. He loved spending time with his family. He loved all kind of cars, especially race cars and go-carts. He loved traveling in his Van. He spent a lot of time tinkering, wheeling and dealing and loved telling stories. He enjoyed country music and loved a good holiday meal.
Mr. Hood is survived by his children Robert A. Hood (Karen) of Killingworth, Bernadette Hood of Torrington, Joseph Hood (Bonnie) of Wellsboro, PA, Paul Hood (Julie) of Thomaston, CT, Rosemarie Hood of Torrington, his siblings Myron Edwin Hood (Linda) of Beverly, Mass., George Clyde Hood of Amesbury, Mass., Phyllis M. Hood of Lebanon, Maine, Dorothy E. Hood of Springvale, Maine and predeceased by his sister Polly A. Stone. He is also survived by his seven grand-children, six great-grand-children and many nieces and nephews. In Lieu of flowers donations in his name can be made to Helping Hands or the Killingworth Fire Department.
Calling hours will be Saturday, February 3, 2018 at St. Lawrence Church, 7 Hemlock Drive in Killingworth from 9:00 to 10:30 with a Funeral Mass directly following at 11:00.
