Laurel Anne Olcott, 46, of Clinton died on February 12th at her home peacefully with her loving husband of almost 18 years by her side.

Laurie was born on July 11, 1968, in New Haven, the daughter of Freeman R. Smith and Mary Bryan Smith of Madison.

Laurie was a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology where she focused on Graphic Design. She shared her husband's passion for Snowboarding and Motocross, but her true focus was her horse Beetle. She passed on her love of horseback riding to her two beautiful daughters. Laurie was the VP of Operations at her husband's business, Stimilon International, where the two created, organized and ran action sport events to the joy of many. However, Laurie's greatest contribution, and the one she will be most remembered for, was her ability to light up any room with her smile and bring happiness to all that she met, unconditionally.

In addition to her parents Laurel is survived by her husband David; daughters Annalyse and Kailina; brother Gary Smith of Old Saybrook and sister Charol Cowan of Killingworth.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday February 22nd from 2-3:30pm at Swan Funeral Home, 80 E. Main St., Clinton. A memorial service will begin at 3:30pm. In lieu of flowers, we ask that everyone attempt to make someone smile today, in her honor. Because that is what she did everyday. #lauriesmiles There is also a fund designated to support her two young daughters at http://www.gofundme.com/mmeshw To sign the online guest book visit www.swanfh.com.
